HOW TO: Gain visibility in your niche on Instagram

Among all the social networks I stumbled across over the years, Instagram is by far my favorite when it comes to being creative.

Now,  my experience teaches me that there are two types of people who use Instagram:

  1. those who share pictures without expecting any form of validation;
  2. those who share their content to get a feedback (likes, followers, comments).

Me, I’m (unfortunately?) part of the second category, which means that I’ve read every article ever written and watched every single video on YouTube I found on how to create a successful profile. The results? A little disappointing.

This is why I thought to share with you some of my tips on how to bring your Instagram profile to the next level. Today, I’m going to show you how to gain visibility in a smart way from the right people, aka your “niche”.

A niche is a category of people that share the same interest in a particular topic, like having a blog, loving books, working out.

There are many ways to get noticed on Instagram, but most of them don’t bring any long-term benefits. Instead of pursuing brief moments of fame that usually last for just one picture, you should focus on engaging only with the users that share your same interests. This way, your efforts will be put in the right direction and it is reasonable to expect that you’ll find a greater both short- and long-term engagement rate.

2017 Resolutions, a little late

I really tried not to write my annual New Year’s resolutions in the past few weeks because I know from experience I never ever take them seriously once that January’s over.

Here’s what I’m going to do. As you probably noticed by now, I love making lists of stuff, so here’s the list of things I’d love to be better at in 2017.

I’ve been fascinated by the 101 Things in 1001 Days challenge since I first heard of it and I’ve spent the past couple of months coming up with ideas for my own challenge.

A lot of cups of coffee later, here’s what I’ve come up with.

I hope you find this challenge as interesting as I did (and still am) and I’d love to know if any of you have already done it or are thinking to do it in the future!

Start date: Dec 29, 2016
End date: Sep 26, 2019

10 Favorite Foods

31 Days Blog Challenge: Day 7 of 31 (first posts here: 1, 2, 34, 5, 6)

Not sure if I told you already, but I’m a foodie with the capital “f”. As they say,

And I’m telling you that after spending 3 hours over lunch with my best friend at a great local Japanese restaurant with an all you can eat promotion at $10,90 (beverages excluded) where we – 2 gals in their 20s who had made a good breakfast not more than 4 hours before – ended up ordering and (needless to say) eating not 2, not 3, but 29 dishes.

With that in mind, imagine my panic the moment I looked at today’s challenge. 10 favorite foods? How exactly am I supposed to choose only 10 favorites? Still, I did my best to come up with a smart way to name as many as I possibly could within those 10, and here’s my ultimate list of foods I absolutely love and would totally recommend you to try if you haven’t already: Continue reading “10 Favorite Foods”

30+ Free Stock Photos Sites for your Blog

You know what’s really great about the internet for a lazy blogger? Hundreds of thousands of beautiful pictures that would look just amazing on your blog.

You know what’s not that great, though? The fact that you could be served thousands of dollars in copyright infringement fines.

So, in order to prevent any of us from having to sell a kidney that we may actually need (a little melodramatic, but you get the point), here’s a handful of sites where you can find tons of free images for your blog.

I’ll keep updating this list, so make sure to check this post out every now and then!
